The 4th edition of the symposium "Pflanzenbauliche Verwertung von Gärrückständen aus Biogasanlagen", organised on 15 September 2020 by the Agency of "Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e. V. (FNR) with the support of our Institute, was held virtually for the first time this year. Around 160 participants accepted the joint invitation from FNR and IASP. The focus of the conference was on the increasing demands on digestate handling. Challenges with regard to the sustainable utilisation of digestate result primarily from the nutrient surpluses in processing regions, but the latest amendments to the German Fertiliser Ordinance (DüV) also mean that action is needed. Experts from science and practice presented possible concepts and technical solutions.
