Field trials require precision. In addition to conventional agricultural machinery, modern special technology is therefore used at the Experimental Station, e.g. for sowing and harvesting. The machines are also adapted to special requirements in the station's own workshop. The existing internet network enables easy monitoring of trials and fast data transfer for automatic measurements in the fields. An RTK-GPS controlled steering system enables precise driving and cm-accurate triggering of work processes. In trials lasting several years, the system ensures that the positions of the plots can be found quickly and accurately, e.g. after tillage. The system also allows geo-referenced documentation of field work.
