At the International Green Week, our scientist Annika Behler received the "Future through Diversity" award from the Brandenburg State Farmers' Association in the "Climate Adaptors" category. The award honors her special commitment as head of the DigiRoot research project. In this project, we are developing digital technology for detecting soil compaction on the one hand, and on the other, we are working on practical measures to make the deeper soil layers accessible to root growth again and thus reduce the drought stress on plants. In this way, we are making an important contribution to climate adaptation in regional agriculture. In the laudatory speech, it was emphasized that Annika Behler's research processes and implements state-of-the-art scientific and technical methods in such a way that a very practical benefit can be expected for Brandenburg's farmers, who are plagued by the climate crisis. You can find out more about our DigiRoot project at ILU e.V. and on Youtube.
The award was presented to Annika Behler by Anja Boudon, State Secretary in the Brandenburg Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Climate Protection (MLUK), Heiko Terno, Vice President of the Brandenburg Farmers' Association (LBV), and Dorothee Berger, spokesperson for the Brandenburg Food Industry Cluster. We are pleased and congratulate very much!
